ACECLOFENAC 100MG + CHLORZONE 250MG + PARACETAMOL 325MG
ACTICROSS-MR is a fixed-dose combination tablet for the short-term relief of painful musculoskeletal conditions where muscle spasm occurs alongside inflammation — acute low back pain, neck and shoulder spasm, sprains, strains, and post-traumatic or post-operative musculoskeletal pain. It pairs a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with a centrally acting muscle relaxant and an analgesic-antipyretic, so inflammation, spasm and pain are addressed together rather than with three separate prescriptions.

Benefits
- Treats inflammation, muscle spasm and pain in one tablet, simplifying the regimen for the patient.
- The muscle relaxant component targets spasm directly — the part of musculoskeletal pain that NSAIDs alone tend to leave behind.
- Combining paracetamol with aceclofenac provides analgesia without escalating the NSAID dose.
- Suited to acute low back pain, cervical spondylosis flares, sprains and strains, and post-traumatic or post-operative musculoskeletal pain.

Side effects
Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.
Common
- Nausea, indigestion or epigastric discomfort
- Abdominal pain or diarrhoea
- Drowsiness, dizziness or light-headedness (largely the chlorzoxazone)
- Headache
Less common
- Gastric erosion, ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Raised liver enzymes on testing
- Skin rash or itching
- Orange or reddish-purple discolouration of the urine — a harmless chlorzoxazone metabolite, not blood
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
- Black, tarry stools or vomiting of blood
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes, or persistent right-upper-abdominal pain
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or any difficulty breathing
- A marked fall in urine output, or new swelling of the ankles
- Widespread rash with blistering or peeling skin

Precautions
- Contraindicated in active peptic ulcer disease or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Contraindicated in severe hepatic or renal impairment, and in known hypersensitivity to NSAIDs, including aspirin-sensitive asthma.
- Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy; use in earlier pregnancy and in breastfeeding only on medical advice.
- Check the patient's total daily paracetamol intake across all products — the ceiling is easily breached when combination products are stacked.
- Avoid alcohol during the course. It raises both the gastrointestinal bleeding risk and the risk of liver injury.
- May cause drowsiness. Warn the patient before they drive or operate machinery.
- Use with care in the elderly, in cardiovascular disease, and alongside anticoagulants, corticosteroids or other NSAIDs.
