CAREFIX-100 TAB

CEFIXIME 100MG

CAREFIX-100 TAB is a dry syrup of cefixime 100 mg, a third-generation oral cephalosporin, reconstituted before use. It is used in older children and where a higher dose is required, for otitis media, pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, typhoid fever and urinary tract infection caused by susceptible organisms.

01

Benefits

  • Good activity against Gram-negative organisms including beta-lactamase-producing Haemophilus and Moraxella.
  • The 100 mg strength suits older or heavier children without needing large volumes of the lower strength.
  • Once- or twice-daily dosing improves the likelihood of completing the course.
  • An established oral option in uncomplicated typhoid fever, where it avoids the need for injectable therapy.
  • Absorption is not significantly affected by food.
