CARIZYME SYRUP 200ML
FUNGAL DIASTASE 12.5MG ( ENZYME ) + PEPSIN 7.5MG
CARIZYME SYRUP 200ML is a digestive enzyme syrup containing fungal diastase 12.5 mg and pepsin 7.5 mg. It is used for indigestion, bloating, fullness after meals, flatulence and poor appetite associated with impaired digestion, supplementing the body's own enzymes for starch and protein.
01
Benefits
- Fungal diastase breaks down dietary starch, easing the bloating and fullness that follow a heavy carbohydrate meal.
- Pepsin assists protein digestion where gastric enzyme activity is reduced.
- Relief of post-meal fullness often improves appetite in convalescent and elderly patients.
- The syrup form is easily taken with or after meals and allows the dose to be adjusted.
- Useful during convalescence and after illness, when digestion is temporarily sluggish.
02

03
Precautions
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to pepsin, fungal enzymes or pork-derived products depending on the source of the pepsin.
- Use with caution in active peptic ulcer disease and in acute pancreatitis.
- Take with or immediately after meals — on an empty stomach the enzymes have no substrate and may irritate the mucosa.
- This treats the symptoms of impaired digestion, not their cause. Persistent indigestion needs a diagnosis.
- Alarm features — weight loss, difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, black stools, anaemia — need urgent investigation.
- Shake well before each dose and use the measure supplied.
- Use in children, pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice.
