DR.BEST PAIN OIL

PAIN RELIEF OIL BALM AYURVEDIC

DR.BEST PAIN OIL is an ayurvedic topical pain-relief oil and balm, applied externally and massaged into the affected area. It is traditionally used for joint pain, muscular aches, back and neck stiffness, sprains and strains, and the general aches associated with fatigue or cold weather.

01

Benefits

  • Massage with a warming oil improves local blood flow and eases muscular stiffness.
  • Traditional aromatic herbal oils produce a counter-irritant warming or cooling effect that distracts from underlying pain.
  • Topical application avoids the gastric and renal effects of oral analgesics, which matters in the elderly and in patients who cannot take NSAIDs.
  • Long established in Indian household practice and well accepted by patients for everyday musculoskeletal complaints.
  • Can be used alongside oral treatment for additional local relief.
02

Side effects

Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.

Common
  • Warmth, tingling or mild burning at the application site
  • Local redness
  • Strong aroma that lingers on the skin and clothing
  • Greasy residue
Less common
  • Contact dermatitis with itching and persistent redness
  • Skin irritation with vigorous or repeated rubbing
  • Staining of clothing and bedding
  • Sensitisation on repeated use
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
  • Severe burning, blistering or ulceration of the treated skin
  • Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
  • Widespread rash or hives
  • Accidental swallowing, particularly by a child
  • Severe eye pain after accidental contact
03

Precautions

  • For external use only. Never swallow. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, burns or mucous membranes.
  • Do not use with a heating pad or under tight occlusive dressing — this can cause serious burns with counter-irritant preparations.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes; wash hands thoroughly after application.
  • Discontinue if the skin becomes irritated, and test on a small area first in anyone with sensitive skin.
  • Symptomatic relief only. Persistent joint pain, swelling, deformity or pain following significant injury needs medical assessment.
  • Use in pregnancy, breastfeeding and in young children only on advice.
