E CARE 400 SG CAP is a soft gelatin capsule of vitamin E 400 mg, a fat-soluble antioxidant vitamin. It is used as a nutritional supplement in vitamin E deficiency, in fat malabsorption states, and for its antioxidant properties in skin health and general supplementation.

Side effects
Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.
Common
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Diarrhoea
- Abdominal cramping
- Fatigue
Less common
- Headache
- Blurred vision
- Skin rash
- Muscle weakness
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
- Unusual bruising or bleeding, or bleeding that is slow to stop
- Blood in the stool or urine
- Severe headache, or weakness or numbness down one side
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
- Persistent vomiting or severe abdominal pain

Precautions
- High-dose vitamin E has an antiplatelet effect and increases bleeding risk. Use with particular caution alongside warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel and other anticoagulants or antiplatelets.
- Stop at least two weeks before planned surgery because of the bleeding risk.
- Contraindicated in vitamin K deficiency and in bleeding disorders.
- Vitamin E is fat-soluble and accumulates. Do not exceed the recommended dose or take alongside another vitamin E-containing supplement.
- Take with a meal containing fat, as absorption depends on it.
- High-dose long-term supplementation has been associated with an increased risk of haemorrhagic stroke — reserve high doses for a defined indication rather than indefinite use.
- Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice.
