KETOROZ Z SOAP 75GM is a medicated cleansing bar containing ketoconazole with zinc pyrithione. It pairs two agents active against Malassezia, for seborrhoeic dermatitis, dandruff affecting the body, tinea versicolor and fungal skin infections of the trunk.

Benefits
- Ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione both act against Malassezia, by different mechanisms, which makes the combination more effective than either alone.
- Zinc pyrithione also has antibacterial activity and reduces skin cell turnover, easing the scaling of seborrhoeic dermatitis.
- Well suited to seborrhoeic dermatitis affecting the chest, back and face as well as the scalp.
- Effective in tinea versicolor, which typically covers a wide area of the trunk.
- A wash-off bar is practical for large areas and easily incorporated into daily washing.

Side effects
Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.
Common
- Dryness or tightness of the treated skin
- Mild burning or stinging on application
- Local redness
- Itching
Less common
- Contact dermatitis with persistent redness
- Peeling of the treated skin
- Sensitisation on repeated use
- Discolouration of treated skin
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
- Spreading redness, warmth, pus or increasing pain
- Severe blistering or ulceration of the treated skin
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
- No improvement after four weeks of correct use
- Fever alongside a worsening skin condition

Precautions
- For external use only. Avoid the eyes, mouth and inside of the nose.
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole, other azole antifungals, or zinc pyrithione.
- Leave the lather on the affected area for a minute or two before rinsing.
- In tinea versicolor, expect the pale patches to persist for months after the fungus has cleared — this is not treatment failure.
- Seborrhoeic dermatitis is controlled rather than cured; maintenance use is usually needed.
- Do not use on badly broken or ulcerated skin without advice.
- Seek review if there is no improvement after four weeks.
