KIDIBEST PLUS SYP

IRON + PROTEIN + MINERALS

KIDIBEST PLUS SYP is a paediatric syrup combining iron, protein and minerals. It is used as a nutritional supplement in children with poor appetite, inadequate weight gain, nutritional anaemia and during convalescence, supplementing a normal diet rather than replacing it.

01

Benefits

  • Combines iron with protein and minerals, addressing the deficiencies that commonly occur together in an inadequate childhood diet.
  • Iron corrects the nutritional anaemia that is very common in Indian children and impairs both growth and concentration.
  • The protein component supports growth and tissue repair where dietary intake is inadequate.
  • The syrup form allows dosing by age and weight and is accepted more readily by children than tablets.
  • Useful during convalescence, when appetite is poor and requirements are raised.

Precautions

  • Keep strictly out of reach of children. Iron overdose is a leading cause of fatal childhood poisoning, and a palatable syrup is easily swallowed in quantity.
  • Dose by age and weight on the prescriber's instruction, using the measure supplied.
  • Poor appetite and failure to gain weight need a diagnosis. Tuberculosis, intestinal worms, coeliac disease and chronic infection are common treatable causes that a supplement will mask.
  • Contraindicated in haemochromatosis and in anaemias not due to iron deficiency.
  • Give through a straw or rinse the mouth afterwards to limit tooth staining.
  • Separate from milk, calcium, tea and antacids by at least two hours.
  • Contraindicated in known allergy to milk protein or soya depending on the protein base.
  • Shake well before each dose and keep tightly closed.
