LULICONAZOLE 1.0% W/W NOODLE
LULIRITE SOAP 1.0 is a medicated cleansing bar containing luliconazole 1% w/w. It is used as an adjunct in superficial fungal skin infections — tinea corporis, tinea cruris and tinea pedis — and as a maintenance measure to reduce recurrence over large areas.

Benefits
- Luliconazole is a highly potent antifungal against dermatophytes, the organisms responsible for tinea.
- A wash-off bar covers large areas — back, chest, groin, thighs — far more practically than a cream.
- Suits patients who will not persist with a leave-on antifungal cream.
- Useful as maintenance to reduce recurrence, which is very common in tinea cruris and tinea pedis.
- Easily incorporated into daily washing, which supports long-term use.

Side effects
Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.
Common
- Dryness or tightness of the treated skin
- Mild burning or stinging on application
- Local redness
- Itching
Less common
- Contact dermatitis with persistent redness
- Peeling of the treated skin
- Worsening of the rash rather than improvement
- Sensitisation on repeated use
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
- Spreading redness, warmth, pus or increasing pain
- Severe blistering or ulceration of the treated skin
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
- No improvement after two to three weeks of correct use
- Fever alongside a worsening skin infection

Precautions
- For external use only. Avoid the eyes, mouth and inside of the nose.
- An adjunct, not definitive treatment. A wash-off product has limited contact time, and established infection also needs a leave-on cream or oral therapy.
- Leave the lather on the affected area for a minute or two before rinsing.
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to luliconazole or other azole antifungals.
- Do not use on the scalp or nails for established infection.
- Continue for one to two weeks after the rash clears to prevent relapse.
- Keep the area clean and dry, wear loose cotton clothing, and treat household contacts where reinfection recurs.
