NEEM PLUS SOAP 75GM
NEEM
NEEM PLUS SOAP 75GM is a neem-based medicated cleansing bar. Neem is traditionally used in Indian practice for its antibacterial and antifungal properties, and the soap is used for acne-prone skin, prickly heat, minor skin infections and general antiseptic cleansing.
01
Benefits
- Neem has traditionally recognised antibacterial and antifungal properties and is long established in Indian skincare.
- Useful for acne-prone and oily skin, where reducing surface bacterial load helps.
- Soothing in prickly heat and minor itchy skin conditions, particularly in hot humid weather.
- A gentler alternative to strongly medicated washes for patients who cannot tolerate them.
- Suitable for daily use over large areas as a general cleansing bar.
02
Side effects
Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.
Common
- Dryness or tightness of the treated skin
- Mild stinging on broken skin
- Local redness
- Characteristic neem odour
Less common
- Contact dermatitis with persistent redness and itching
- Peeling of the treated skin
- Worsening of the skin condition rather than improvement
- Sensitisation on repeated use
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
- Spreading redness, warmth, pus or increasing pain, suggesting bacterial infection
- Severe blistering or ulceration of the treated skin
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
- Widespread rash beyond the treated area
- Fever alongside a worsening skin condition
03
Precautions
- For external use only. Avoid the eyes, mouth and inside of the nose. Never swallow — neem oil is toxic if ingested, particularly in children.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- A cleansing bar, not a treatment for established skin infection. Impetigo, cellulitis, infected eczema and significant acne need specific medical treatment.
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to neem.
- Do not use on deep or infected wounds, or extensive broken skin.
- Discontinue if the skin becomes more irritated after starting.
- Use in infants and young children only on advice.
