PC COLD DROPS 15ML

PPE 5MG + CPM 2MG DROPS

PC COLD DROPS 15ML is an oral drops preparation of phenylephrine 5 mg with chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg, for infants and young children. It is used for the symptomatic relief of a runny and blocked nose, with the dose set by the paediatrician.

01

Benefits

  • The dropper delivers the small accurate volumes that infant dosing requires.
  • Phenylephrine relieves nasal blockage, which in infants interferes directly with feeding and sleep.
  • Chlorpheniramine dries the runny nose and post-nasal drip.
  • Contains no paracetamol, so it can be combined with a separate antipyretic without duplication.
  • Concentrated formulation means a small volume delivers the dose, which matters when an infant will take little.

Precautions

  • Cough and cold preparations are not recommended in young children and carry a real risk of serious harm from dosing errors. Use only on paediatric advice and strictly at the stated dose.
  • Dose using the dropper supplied. Never estimate, and never give an adult preparation to a child.
  • Not for use in children below the age stated on the label.
  • Do not combine with any other cough or cold preparation — duplication of ingredients is the usual route to paediatric overdose.
  • Contraindicated in cardiac disease, hyperthyroidism, narrow-angle glaucoma and urinary retention.
  • Do not give with, or within fourteen days of, a monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
  • Keep out of reach of children and store as directed.
  • Seek review urgently for fast breathing, chest indrawing, difficulty feeding or persistent fever.
