PREMEROZ C SOAP 75GM

PERMETHERIN + CETRIMIDE SOAP

PREMEROZ C SOAP 75GM is a medicated cleansing bar containing permethrin with cetrimide. It combines a scabicide with an antiseptic detergent, used as an adjunct in scabies management where scratching has led to secondary bacterial infection.

01

Benefits

  • Permethrin is active against the scabies mite and against lice.
  • Cetrimide adds antibacterial action, useful where scratching has caused secondary infection — a very common complication of scabies.
  • Cetrimide also lifts grease and debris from excoriated skin.
  • A wash-off bar is convenient for whole-household hygiene during a scabies outbreak.
  • Useful as an adjunct alongside definitive treatment.
02

Side effects

Not everyone gets these. Most are mild and settle as the course finishes.

Common
  • Dryness or tightness of the treated skin
  • Mild burning or stinging on application
  • Local redness
  • Itching
Less common
  • Contact dermatitis with persistent redness
  • Peeling of the treated skin
  • Numbness or tingling of the skin
  • Sensitisation on repeated use
Stop and get medical help if any of these occur
  • Severe blistering or ulceration of the treated skin
  • Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
  • Spreading redness, warmth, pus or fever — infected scabies needs systemic antibiotics
  • Itching that is still worsening after four weeks
  • New burrows or lesions appearing after treatment
03

Precautions

  • A soap is not a cure for scabies. Definitive treatment with permethrin 5% lotion left on overnight, or oral ivermectin, is required.
  • Secondary bacterial infection of scratched scabies often needs systemic antibiotics — an antiseptic soap alone is not sufficient for established infection.
  • For external use only. Avoid the eyes, mouth and inside of the nose.
  • Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to permethrin, chrysanthemums, or quaternary ammonium compounds.
  • Treat all household members and close contacts simultaneously, and wash bedding and clothing in hot water.
  • Itching commonly persists for one to two weeks after successful treatment.
  • Use in infants and in pregnancy only on medical advice.
