Precautions

  • A nutritional supplement, not a medicine, and not a substitute for a balanced diet or for investigating unexplained weight loss.
  • Contraindicated in known allergy to milk protein or soya, depending on the protein base.
  • Patients with chronic kidney disease or liver disease should take protein supplements only on medical advice.
  • Use with caution in diabetes; syrup preparations carry a sugar load unless stated otherwise.
  • Introduce gradually and increase fluid intake alongside to reduce bloating and constipation.
  • Do not let the supplement displace solid food.
